Less is more - restrained lines holding a rich life
INTRO
How modern minimalism is created
Modern minimalism is not having nothing; it is removing every excess so that what remains is exactly enough. It demands absolutely flat elevations, absolutely even gaps and absolutely consistent materials - the three hardest things to achieve in custom furniture.
CMITAL approach: break cabinetry into standard units on a 50 mm module, then unify doors, visible panels and edge trims onto one colour card with same-colour PUR edge banding. Across a whole wall you see only lines and planes - no extra handles, frames or seams.
TRAITS
Style traits
- Full-height doors with 3-4 mm gaps kept even throughout
- Concealed handles or push latches so no hardware shows on the elevation
- Same-colour edge banding; visible panels and doors from the same batch
- Recessed hidden plinths give the cabinetry a floating look
- Open shelving under 20% of the total; the rest closed storage
