LIVING ROOM

Living Room

Doors, walls and cabinets as one — the living room is the home's first impression

The living room has to solve three things at once: a strong first impression, enough storage, and circulation with no dead corners. They often conflict — too much display looks cluttered, too many cabinets look bulky.

DINING & KITCHEN

Dining & Kitchen

Sideboard and kitchen cabinets — the home's energy station

The kitchen and dining zone carries the busiest circulation at home: prepping, eating, coffee, drinks and small appliances. Handled separately they turn to chaos; only an integrated design truly flows.

FAQ

Space planning FAQs

How do I fit enough cabinetry into a small home without it feeling heavy?
Three principles: take cabinetry to full height but not across every wall, keep open shelving to 10-15% with LED strips, and push storage vertically - tatami platforms, under-bed, bay windows.
Should the TV wall or the sofa wall be the focal point?
It depends on daylight and sightlines. The sofa wall is the visual anchor and suits veneer or wainscot; if the TV wall faces a window, use low-reflectance materials to avoid glare.
How deep should a sideboard be?
Usually 400-450 mm, enough for small appliances and tableware; for a built-in fridge or oven, detail it to 550-600 mm to the appliance dimensions.
How wide should the walk-in closet passage be?
A single run needs at least 600 mm clear width; U-shaped or galley layouts need at least 900 mm so facing doors do not clash.
