Deep carving of 8-15 mm is usually finished by hand, while shallow carving is CNC-machined then hand-polished. The deeper the cut, the richer the light and shadow.
Material matching
Fine-grained, carving-friendly species such as mahogany, cherry and black walnut work best.
Suitable spaces
For ceremonial spots such as a villa entry, study or master bedroom; where ceiling height is limited, choose a moulded-panel door instead.
